Patient Education - Throat
Our physicians have specialized training in the diagnosis and treatment of voice disorders
and swallowing problems. We possess the most advanced technology, enabling our surgeons
to perform procedures in the comfort of the office that once required general anesthesia
in the operating room. Such procedures include esophagoscopy for swallowing problems,
biopsy of laryngeal lesions and injection treatment of the paralyzed vocal cord. Other
procedures available include videostroboscopy to evaluate the speaking and singing voice;
laryngeal injections to relax a strangled voice also known as spasmodic dysphonia;
and specialized treatments for laryngeal papillomas—a benign laryngeal lesion that
can cause a very weak voice.
